Stone guards. I like how they look, but I have European headlights (well, I have European everything because it's from Europe) and I'm not sure if I want to cover them up. Here's stone guards on a bus:

Personally, I'd say to go without them. I've never been a huge fan of them.

do you find that your headlights are contently being chipped and broken from errant stones? no? then don't.

I like em. But wasnt the only difference between the euro and US lights on the pre 67 beetles and busses the deletion of the parking light at the base?

do you have both yellow and red in your taillights?

It's more that white part. I'm not 100% sure because I haven't used them, but they seem like back up lights.

On a Baja bug they'd look right at home, regular beetle I'd leave them off.
